Two Rotten Apples: The Grim Tale of America’s Favorite (Alleged) Pedophiles

-By Rudrangshi Saha

Ever wondered if America is stuck in some twisted version of "To Catch a Predator"? Because, frankly, when it comes to Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the lines between political leadership and sheer creepiness are blurred beyond recognition.

Donald Trump: A Legacy of Disturbing Allegations

Social media has been aflame with details of Trump's cozy relationship with the late, notorious paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Photos, plane flights, and call logs have all been paraded as evidence, yet we see nothing "new" in these so-called Epstein Files. Rep. Ted Lieu has been fervently waving this banner, claiming that Trump's sordid connections make him unfit for office. But in the grand tradition of political mudslinging, Trump's campaign responds with insults rather than substance, calling Lieu a "loser."

But, these just sound like vague allegations. So, where's the beef? Trump himself admitted knowing Epstein, calling him a "terrific guy" in the New York magazine back in 2002. A damning clip from the NBC archives 1992, shows Trump and Epstein ogling women like a pair of sleazy high school boys at a prom. Trump, pointing out a woman and saying, "Look at her, back there… She's hot," while Epstein chuckles approvingly. The footage was shot by NBC for Faith Daniels’ talk show, “A Closer Look,” and NBC News republished it in 2019, while Trump was president and Epstein was awaiting trial. “He’s a lot of fun to be with," Trump said then. "It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side." Ah, yes, the younger side. Because nothing screams "presidential material" like openly admitting your preference for young women, with a notorious paedophile by your side. Charming, isn’t it?

Trump was also photographed with Epstein at an event at Mar-a-Lago in 2000, along with future first lady Melania Knauss and Maxwell, who's now serving a 20-year prison sentence for recruiting and grooming teenage girls to be sexually abused by Epstein.

But wait, there's more! Trump’s bizarre affection for his own daughter, Ivanka, has provided fodder for countless uncomfortable moments. From saying he’d date her if she wasn’t his daughter to the unsettling photo of a teenage Ivanka sitting on his lap, Trump has repeatedly blurred the boundaries of acceptable paternal behaviour. Even Stormy Daniels, the adult film star, claimed Trump said she reminded him of Ivanka. Now, if that doesn’t creep you out, I don’t know what will.

But don't be too quick to sharpen your pitchforks. After Epstein's arrest, Trump hastily distanced himself, suddenly declaring, "I was not a fan." This is the same man who, in 2020, wished Epstein's accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, well. One can't help but marvel at the brazenness.

Joe Biden: A Whispering Menace

And then there's Joe Biden, the supposed champion of decency, who can’t seem to keep his hands to himself. The diary of his daughter, Ashley, talking about childhood sexual trauma, allegedly detailing inappropriate showers with "Joe" has caused quite a stir. Sold to the conservative media outlet Project Veritas, this diary fuelled a firestorm of controversy. Despite no official confirmation of the diary's authenticity, fact-checking sites like Snopes claim the contents are true.

Ashley Biden allegedly sent a letter to a New York judge affirming the diary's reality, though no concrete reports have emerged. This scandal, coupled with Biden’s penchant for inappropriate touching and whispering into the ears of unsuspecting women and girls has been well-documented. Videos of Biden awkwardly groping young girls during photo ops have circulated widely, leaving a trail of cringing onlookers. And let’s not forget his creepy comments about how much he loves it when kids sit on his lap. Is this really the behavior of a leader, or the ramblings of someone who forgot to take his meds?

But Meta's oversight board, scrutinizing this “manipulated” video of Biden, found that their current policies on AI-generated content are laughably insufficient. The video, edited to loop Biden's hand touching his granddaughter's chest, is an apparent digital deceit. Critics argue this oversight is a failure to address the more insidious human-edited content that plagues the platform. The problem? These "fake rumours" are recurring, harrowing, and alarming, mildly put. Each and every video on the internet which shows Biden displaying rather questionable behavior against minors has been conveniently deemed "manipulated".

Hence, true or not, the mere existence of such rumours should be enough to raise an eyebrow or two.

The Circus Continues

So here we are, with two men who are more suited for a psychological thriller than the Oval Office. Trump and Biden, each with their own sordid histories, each with a disturbing attitude toward young women and girls. The hashtags #TrumpPedoFiles and #CreepyJoe aren’t just internet hyperbole; they’re the manifestation of a populace tired of pretending that this is normal.

Let's not kid ourselves; both sides of this political cesspool are neck-deep in hypocrisy. Trump, with his cavalier attitude towards Epstein, and Biden, shrouded in rumours and unsettling video clips, have given us a masterclass in how not to inspire confidence in leadership. Each camp is quick to weaponize the other's flaws while conveniently ignoring their own skeletons.

The real tragedy? In the quest for power, the truth becomes a casualty. We are left sifting through a morass of accusations, innuendos, and half-truths, trying to discern reality from the grotesque carnival of political theatre.

In conclusion, when money buys power and power corrupts absolutely, it’s little wonder that such disgusting behaviours are swept under the rug. The question remains: how long will we let these supposed leaders get away with it? And, how long will we tolerate the idea that our choice is between the lesser of two evils, when both evils are so profoundly unsettling?
