The 2024 American Elections: Nobody for the People

- Arya Shinde

The Rage Behind the Democrats' Middle Eastern Policy

As the 2024 American Elections approach, the Democrats’ approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is stirring up a lot of talk. Their strong support for Israel has people questioning if it's really the best path forward. Critics argue that this stance ignores the tough realities Palestinians face and keeps things in a frustrating stalemate. Back home, there’s growing frustration with a party that seems out of touch with what many people believe is a more nuanced situation. It’s not just about international relations; it’s also a question of whether the Democrats are genuinely trying to make a difference or just sticking to old, familiar positions.

Project 2025 and How It Would Spell Doom for Freedom and Individuality

Project 2025 is a manifesto of sorts, made by the Heritage Foundation, causing quite a stir this election season. It's a plan backed by a majority of the orange man’s administration, and aims to shake up how the U.S. government runs. The big worry here is that it might centralize power, away from the masses, and mess with the system of checks and balances that keep things fair and functional, this becomes even more concerning, especially since Trump has stated in a speech; and I quote, "in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote.", hinting at a complete upheaval of the concept of elections as a whole, and America descending into one of the world’s biggest dictatorships.

But it’s not just about the government's potential new political setup. There’s real concern that Project 2025 could seriously impact civil rights, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ community and cisgender women’s abortion rights. People are anxious it might roll back on important rights and lead to more pain and suffering than there already is. If Project 2025 moves forward under a Republican-led government, it could change the U.S. in ways that many find alarming. This isn’t just a political issue; it’s about real, everyday impacts on people’s lives.

Kamala Under the Spotlight For a Genocide

Vice President Kamala Harris has been under intense scrutiny lately, especially because of her stance on Israel. Critics have been quick to pounce, accusing her of not doing enough for the Palestinians. The coconut lady has faced a lot of mockery and tough questions about how she’s handling this complex issue and It’s clear that being in the spotlight means every decision gets examined and criticized. Harris’s situation really shows how hard it is to lead when every move is under a microscope.

Democratic and Republican Support for Israel

Both major parties have shown strong support for Israel, and this has led to some serious debates. The Democrats are often accused of not pushing hard enough for peace, while Republicans, especially during Trump’s presidency, have been even more vocal in their backing of Israel. Trump’s administration was known for its strong support, often sidelining Palestinian concerns, which didn’t do much to ease tensions. As we get closer to 2024, this bipartisan support for Israel continues to be a hot topic, and it’s making many voters wonder what this really means for the future. It’s a tough spot for those who are frustrated by the lack of meaningful dialogue about the real impact of these policies.

Reviewing the 2024 Elections

With 2024 on the horizon, voters are facing a tough choice. They must decide between Democrats, who haven’t shifted much in their stance on Israel, and have not significantly advanced peace efforts, and Republicans, who have stirred controversy with their previous policies. Adding to the complexity is Project 2025, which threatens to roll back civil rights and reshape American democracy in worrying ways. Voters are acutely aware of the stakes involved. It’s not just about choosing a party or a candidate; it’s about determining the direction the country will take in the years to come. The choices made in this election could set in course an effect that will plague America for a long time, setting the stakes higher than ever before.

Harris 47.2%, Trump 44.1%, as of september 5
